Sarawak Rainforest & SFM Discovery Centre-Bukit Kana Sarawak Rainforest & SFM Discovery Centre-Bukit Kana

Sarawak Rainforest & SFM Discovery Centre-Bukit Kana was previously known as Bukit Kana Field Station. It was constructed by Zedtee Sdn. Bhd. to fulfill the strategic objective of the ITTO MFMA Project to provide a permanent facility for training programmes for planning least damaging harvesting operations and skill training of forest operators in conjunction with Anap-Muput FMU.

It is located in Bukit Kana Management Area with an area of approximately 8,400 hectares of mixed and partially logged Hill Dipterocarp forests. The peaks of Bukit Kana, Jangkar and Naong (3,512 feet) and waterfalls provide opportunities for educational tours, scientific expeditions, hiking and other recreational activities in addition to community enterprise development and securitization of environmental services.

The Centre is 20 km from Sangan and accessible by road and river from Tatau. Travelling between Bintulu Airport and Sangan is approximately 1 hour.

The centre was declared open by the Director of Forests, Datu Haji Len Talif Salleh on 9th April 2009.
