Forest Management Plan (FMP)
The Eight Revision of the Forest Management Plan for Anap Muput FMU dated 25th September 2024 was approved by the Sarawak Forest Department vide [(54)JHS/600-3/7/102/Jld.25] dated 21st February 2025.
The Forest Management Plan (FMP) was prepared for the period 2024-2049 covering the last two coupes of the second harvest cycle and the third harvest cycle commencing from 2026/27.
Harvest maintains the 25-year cutting cycle regime with selective logging of Dipterocarps/Non-Dipterocarps at 50/45 cm DBH respectively. The average harvest-able area will be 3,000 ha per coupe. The Annual Allowable Cut (AAC) is 88,149 m3 per annum.
All logging infrastructures had been established or renewed with high standard of housing provided for workmen. The main road connecting the Muput and Ulu Anap communities and beyond shall be maintained until the completion of the proposed Sangan-Melukun Highway. Field design for Continuous Forest Inventory and long-term researches shall be rationalized to ensure accessibility, cost-benefits and sustainability.
AMFMU will continue to collaborate with government agencies, NGOs and institutions on forest research to assess change and update its biodiversity database. It will also continue to invest in modernization of forest management and development of sustainable human resource.
Community Forest Plantation Initiative will be the foundation of community development by engaging individual land owner or user to develop idle land into sustainable enterprises under the Community Forest Management framework.
