    1. AMFMU will undertake Site Audit for Surveillance Audit 2 (SA2) against MC&I (Sustainable Forest Management) on 18th – 20th January 2022 following the Remote Audit in May 2021 due to the imposition of Movement Control Order wrought by COVID-19.

    2. SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd. released the Audit Plan for the Site Audit on 4th January 2022. The Audit Team will include a new Lead Auditor for AMFMU Mohd Annas Amin Hj Omar as well as a trainee auditor Azrul Ikhnsan B. Mohamed.

  • 22 JUNE 2021

    1. AMFMU undertook the 2nd Surveillance Audit by "Remote Audit" in 18th-21st May 2021 against the requirements of the new MC&I Sustainable Forest Management.

    2. In response to the audit comment, Anap Muput FMU reiterated the policy on Sustainable Forest Management dated 11 January 2011 with reference to the updated forest management standard as manifested in the revised Management Plan for Anap Muput FMU dated 16th September 2020.

  • 18 MAY 2021

    1. Sarawak Forest Department approved AMFMU FMP (2020-2049) dated 16th September 2020 on the 10th November 2020. The new FMP charts course towards achieving selected Sustainable Development Goals during the last four years of the second harvest cycle and the 3rd harvest cycle commencing from 2025.

    2. Anap Muput Community (AMC) elected its sixth Executive Committee during ASDU Liaison Committee meeting dated 6th July 2020.

    1. Anap Muput FMU will undertake Annual Surveillance for Forest management against MC&I (Natural Forest) by SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd. in 31 March – 3 April 2020.

    2. Zedtee Sdn. Bhd. reported a profit of RM3,985,846 for financial year end ending April 2019.

    1. Anap Muput FMU will undertake a recertification for Forest Management against MC&I (Natural Forest) by SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd. in 22 – 26 April 2019.
    Notice for the recertification had earlier been sent through Facebook ASDU Liaison Committee meetings and correspondence with the key shareholders.

    1. Annual Surveillance Audit against MC&I (Natural Forest) has been scheduled for 30th July - 3rd August 2018.

    2. ERT species
    A new link had been created for the posting of ASDU ERT Species Series of posters. Management prescriptions for selected species were recommended by relevant experts and stakeholders.
    These posters were explained during the various management and Liaison committee meetings before distribution to ASDU workers and local community.

    To overcome the difficulty for updating the webpage and interaction with interested stakeholders, new accounts will be set up on Facebook for:

    "Anap Muput FMU" to be managed by the Forest Manager/Zedtee SB and "Anap Muput Community" by the Community Forest Manager/AMC.

    Anap Muput FMU is privileged to receive the 1st "Award of 60-year tenure to Certified FMUs" during the International Day of Forests National Level Celebration on 26 March 2016.

    • MoU for the "Tenureship for Forest Management Certification of Anap Muput Forest Management Unit" was signed during the Seminar on "Forestry Governance for Sustainable Forest Management & Timber Industry Development" in conjunction with International Day of Forests 2016 National Level Celebration on 26 March 2016.

    Anap Muput FMU concluded its stakeholder consultation on the Social Impact on communities directly affected by its harvest operations during the ASDULC meeting on 15 March 2016. Comments on the presentation "Anap Muput FMU Social Impact Report Consultation" include:
    1. Data collection methodology and scope of questionnaire by Dr Samantha Liew of WWF Sarawak
    2. Correction of household data by Tr Mawang
    3. Explanation of individual circumstances of two households with income below the official poverty line by Tr Mawang
    4. Confirmation of survey data by Stephen anak Philip for Rh Philip
    5. Acceptance of the draft conclusions of the Report

    AMFMU celebrated the handing over of rubber seedlings to participants of "Forest Landscape Restoration" project affecting Anap Protected Forest at Rumah Sayong on 9th December 2015 to mark a journey which has taken more than four years by ASDU stakeholders.

    ASDU wish to acknowledge contributions from MoMA, DoA, Harwood and STA, patience and co-operation of Anap Muput Community, advice from DO Tatau, and support of FDS and SFC.

    ASDU Liaison Committee met for the third time in 2015 on 08 December 2015. Consultation with AMC CCD ExCo and TRs of ulu Anap identified Rh Mawang, Rh Gasah, Rh Sayong, Rh Philip and Rh Entrie as the local communities directly affected by AMFMU logging operation within the ulu Batang Anap catchment.

    ASDU took the opportunity to request Dr Jason Hon of WWF Sarawak who was in attendance to elaborate on the High Conservation Value Forest (Area) concept and its role in the SFM certification standard during the consultation with communities on any additional HCV area of cultural/religious significance, and environmental impact arising from logging operation in the ulu Anap catchment.

    The Bekatan graveyard located on the south bank of Ulu Sungai Anap (outside AMFMU) downriver from Nanga Dakat near Rh. Mawang will be demarcated as an ASDU HCVA.

    Anap Muput Community (AMC) elected its new Conservation and Community Development (CCD) Executive Committee during the ASDU Liaison Committee meeting on 24 August 2015.

    The new ExCo for August 2015-2018 are:
    Tr Merayang (Chairman), Tr Jelian (Vice Chairman), Tr Sekudan, Tr Gerunsin, Tr Francis, Encik Rurat ak Agau & Encik Stephen ak Philip.
    AMC CCD ExCo shall function as "AMC Manager" responsible for Community Forest Management affecting ASDU.

    Surveillance Audit
    Sirim QAS International Sdn Bhd audit of Anap Muput FMU for 2014 has been scheduled for 23-29 June 2014. The audit team will consist of Dr Yap Son Kheong and Mr Khairul Najwan Ahmad Jahari. Dr Henry Chan will represent World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF Malaysia) as observer during the audit.

  • 16 MARCH 2014

    General Harvesting Plan
    The revised General Harvesting Plan (GHP) for T/4317 was approved by Forest Department Sarawak vide WPO.628.412.1(x)-91 dated 20 March 2014.
    The revision did not affect the annual harvesting coupe area and involved changes to harvest sequence affecting four coupes during the period 2015-2018 to align with the advent of Sangan-Melukun road as an alternative evacuation route.
